During the creation of these pieces, some of the design had to be modified very slightly as a direct translation into steel presented minor considerations. For example, rivets were not present in the original design. As a result I used them sparingly; to appear as a type of forwardly placed 'gadlings' or knuckles as one would see on a pair of historical 14th century gauntlets. I also realized that the fingers needed some type of crenulated inlet for them to rest in. We thus added shallow valleys and spikes which seemed to also compliment the pointed finger closest to the knuckle. I am also especially fond of the vambraces (forearm pieces, which are often erroneously called 'gauntlets') which seem to convey an Elven (or is it, Elvish....Elvis....Elvira?...even a Nazgul) appearance.
